Luxury is always uncompromising. Whether it's luxury sports cars or luxury Swiss watches, long–aged cognac or a diamond necklace, the price always fades into the background when the buyer is looking for prestige, quality and uniqueness. The cost of the best villas and penthouses can be tens of millions of dollars, but this does not bother buyers, because among all luxury items, it is real estate that best speaks about the wealth, success and taste of the owner.
Russians are well versed in luxury – and this is known all over the world. Over the past decade and a half, our compatriots have managed to register in almost every place where real estate is prestigious and expensive, from well–known resorts in Europe to distant Australia. Thanks to the ability to choose the best, appreciate really high-quality objects and not skimp if the purchase is worth it, they are everywhere expected as honorable customers.

Something that always gets more expensive
Strangely enough, the choice of destinations for buyers with broad financial capabilities is narrower than for investors with an average budget. Those countries and regions where the high demands of demanding customers cannot be fully satisfied are automatically deleted. So, even the most luxurious villa in Turkey is unlikely to attract those who traditionally choose London or the Cote d'Azur, since the infrastructure of local resorts is far from perfect, besides they are simply not prestigious enough.
In fact, the choice of luxury vacation properties is limited to classic European and American resorts, as well as a few exotic countries and regions whose economies are based on elite tourism. There are few places worthy of an elite public, and the real estate market is quite narrow, so it's safe to say that demand in the luxury segment exceeds supply.
This situation makes investments in luxury real estate especially attractive. No matter how much it is said that the owners of supervillains make purchases for their own use and last of all think about the benefits, this is only half the truth. The best, exclusive properties are rising in price even in those markets that are in a state of stagnation or decline. So, against the background of the general crisis of the US real estate market, penthouses and luxury apartments in Manhattan show a wonderful increase in value. This property protects and multiplies the capital invested in luxury real estate in the best possible way.

Luxury features
However, a prestigious destination, a famous resort and even a high price is not a guarantee that the buyer receives a truly luxurious property. In order for the property to fall into the premium segment, it must have some additional properties that distinguish it from other high-quality and expensive offers in the region.
Usually, such characteristic features are a panoramic view, an exclusive location, finishing with especially valuable materials, additional infrastructure that is privately owned. However, it is worth highlighting two categories of real estate that are particularly highly valued – these are historical buildings, as well as houses designed or equipped by famous craftsmen. So, among the numerous offers on the Cote d'Azur, villas built according to the designs of famous architects, as well as houses belonging to previously famous people, the aristocracy, including the Russian, certainly stand out.
In short, any luxury real estate is a piece product that is difficult to average and classify. Behind the dry lines of each of the reviews published in this special Homes Overseas project are hundreds of private houses and apartments created without compromise, without looking back at the high cost. Getting to know them is fascinating and gives great aesthetic pleasure. Anyone whose interest in haute couture real estate is supported by appropriate financial opportunities should be advised to listen not only to reason, but also to their own feelings and emotions. Maybe a couple of extra millions, paid in excess of the estimated budget, will help to purchase not just a house, but a work of art?
