Higher education in Spain You can get higher education in Spain at a public or private university, training usually takes place in Spanish. As a student of a Russian university, you can transfer to a Spanish university, and you need to provide the necessary documents. You can enter one of the universities in Spain by passing the unified entrance exam (Prueba de la Acceso or Selectividad). In the state universities of the country there is the possibility of free education, but for this you need to gain a passing score, and foreigners also need to legalize a document on their existing education with the acquired knowledge program, which must meet the requirements of the selected Spanish university. This is a rather complicated and expensive procedure. A full course of study at a state university in the country costs from 2000 to 3500 euros, in a private one - it starts from 6000 euros. The academic year at the university lasts from October to June, examination sessions usually take place in February and June. There are about 75 universities in Spain, 50 of them are public and 25 are private, 7 of which are under the tutelage of the Catholic Church. About 5% of all places are for applicants from non-EU countries. The most prestigious universities are located in Madrid , Barcelona , Valencia , as well as in Malaga, Alicante, Granada, Salamanca, Seville.
