Hello Boris, thanks for your question!
You can buy an apartment in Bulgaria according to your foreign passport, but for permanent residence in Bulgaria you need to have a residence permit issued. If you are a pensioner, a residence permit is issued easily.
If you are NOT a pensioner, then there are other mechanisms for obtaining a residence permit.

Good afternoon, dear Boris. You can live in Bulgaria. In addition to a notarial deed or lease, there must be a basis. To obtain a residence permit (temporary residence in Bulgaria) or permanent residence (permanent residence in Bulgaria), the basis may be: a pension certificate, opening a representative office in Bulgaria, investment in shares, etc. Having the basis for living in Bulgaria, you collect the necessary package of documents in Bulgaria and Israel and apply for visa D. in your country at the Bulgarian Consulate. After obtaining visa D, you come to us within 6 months and apply for a residence permit. First you will have a residence permit, and after staying 5 years, get a permanent residence permit. Have a nice day. Respectfully,

BULGARIA. The rights of foreign buyers
Hello! We are considering options for buying a house with a plot of land in Bulgaria for permanent residence. Please tell me if it is currently possible for Russian citizens to make such a transaction and register the purchased property for themselves. Thanks!

BULGARIA. Property maintenance
We bought an apartment in Bulgaria two years ago. The house has the status of a housing estate. About 80% belongs to a Bulgarian company and is rented out in the summer.
During all this time, the manager has not provided any documents for all our requests and refuses to accept the support fee only from us. They asked him many times to take a dachshund, he says then and so on for two years! And he tells the neighbors that we don't pay. What should I do and what is the threat of this situation?

BULGARIA. Visa, residence permit, citizenship
We, two pensioners from Israel, have a permanent residence permit in Bulgaria. Is it possible to get any kind of residence status in Bulgaria for our daughter (single, 46 years old), given that we need her help caring for us. Are there any exceptions to the general rules for family reasons?
