The donation procedure in the UAE differs from the purchase and sale transaction (I mean the procedure itself) only in the cost of registration, where the fee for the transfer of ownership is 0.125% of the value of the object, instead of 4% in case of sale. However, the reduced rate applies only to transactions between spouses or parents and children, and grandparents will have to pay the full 4% duty.
