D visa secured retired with his son from Russia
Vasilyeva Lydia asks:
Good day! To move to Bulgaria I will get a visa D for itself as a secured retired. What about the son? It is 15 years old, I am a single mother. Question to leave him in Russia is not considered ( no relatives, the apartment is sold). Is it possible to get a visa D for two? And then - a residence permit respectively. If Yes, what will be the status of the son at the age of 18? And which army is he going to serve? Because in Russia there is nowhere to return.... Thank you!

Good afternoon, Lydia!
After you receive a D visa, you will enter Bulgaria using it and on its basis you will receive DY:/ This will be followed by the procedure of reunification with your minor son.
Unfortunately, he will not be able to get a D visa at the same time with you on the basis of a secured pensioner, since he is not one.
But, if you prepare in advance, you will be able to request a D visa for him on the basis of studying in the Republic of Bulgaria.
In any case, you should be aware that after your son reaches the age of majority, he will be able to stay in Bulgaria only if he continues his studies here at institutes.
After graduation, he may be able to get a work visa.
But there is a possibility that he will not receive such a visa and will be forced to return to Russia.
The question about the army is unclear: Your son is a citizen of the Russian Federation, so if he has no grounds for postponement, he must serve in the Russian army. At the same time, the question of the presence or absence of an apartment in Russia does not matter.
I would also like to warn you against rash steps: you cannot risk your child's future by selling the only housing in Russia for the sake of moving to Bulgaria.Believe me, living in Bulgaria as a tourist is one thing, living permanently is quite another, funds are needed.
It is more reasonable to rent an apartment in Russia without selling it, to try to live for at least a year on the money received from the rent + pension.
Visa D is given to well-off pensioners if they have a lease agreement, not only an apartment in Bulgaria in the property.
After living for a year, realizing whether you can do it, you will be able to take the following steps for immigration in the future.

BULGARIA. Visa, residence permit, citizenship
Good afternoon,
I live in Germany and am a German citizen. I would like to know if it is possible for my parents to obtain a residence permit in Bulgaria based on the fact that I am a citizen of the European Union, for example, through family reunification?
Is it necessary for me to live in Bulgaria myself?
With respect,
Larisa
