Currently, the visa application centres in Russia are operated by VFS Global. From the 11th of October, that is tomorrow, it stops accepting documents for issuance of Spanish visas for Russians – and, accordingly, the issuance of Spanish visas, according to the portal 4ru.es.
Currently the company has 26 visa application centre in whole Russia where you can apply for a visa to Spain. After October 11, it will be impossible – and temporarily the only opportunity to issue Spanish visas to visit the Consulate of Spain in Moscow or St. Petersburg.
Those who managed to apply until October 10, will receive their visas via VFS Global.
The reason for this situation is that VFS Global has lost the tender Spanish Ministry of foreign Affairs on the management of centres for issuing visas abroad, including in Russia. To perform this work in the autumn of 2016 will be BLS International Services, which currently serves in Moscow an official representation of India.
According to preliminary data, the BLS International Services has no plans in the next year to open visa centers in other Russian cities besides Moscow and St. Petersburg. Currently the company is looking for Spanish-speaking employees to work in Moscow and St. Petersburg. So, obviously, residents of Russia's regions will become much harder to get a visa to Spain to make Spanish visas in any case have to personally visit Moscow or Saint Petersburg.
