In 2023, there were 10 tourists per inhabitant of the Dutch capital.
The municipality has already reduced river cruises, imposed a ban on the construction of new hotels and a ban on the use of alcohol and marijuana in the Red Light district. Now additional restrictions will be added to these restrictions.
One of the measures is a ban on placing new beds in hotels.
Since the authorities do not allow the construction of new hotels, many hoteliers resort to tricks and increase the number of beds during the renovation and expansion of buildings. Now they won't be able to act that way.
It is also planned to legalize the earlier closure of cafes and restaurants, redistribute coffee shops to all districts of the city, as they are now concentrated in the center.
