Bulgaria has taken two positions at once in the top three in the ranking of the most affordable ski destinations in Europe in the new easyJet index. Winter resort Bansko in the Pirin Mountains tops the rating. It is considered the most budget-friendly winter resort on the continent.
In third place is the Bulgarian resort Borovets, offering 58 km of trails in the Rila mountains. This area is especially popular among intermediate skiers looking for wide and well-groomed trails.
The study compares average prices for ski passes, ski equipment rentals, hotels, transportation, and even beer.
The top ten also includes resorts in Poland, Italy, Andorra and France.
