Starting from May 11, 2026, Russian citizens will be able to visit Saudi Arabia without the need for visas. The relevant intergovernmental agreement will become effective on the specified date.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the document on the mutual abolition of visa requirements was signed by the governments of the two countries on December 1, 2025 in Riyadh.
The period of continuous or total stay of citizens in the territory of another State should not exceed 90 days during one calendar year.
An important condition of the agreement is the targeted nature of the trips. The visa-free regime applies exclusively to tourist, guest and short-term business visits. Russian citizens are prohibited from working, studying, or permanently residing in Saudi Arabia without obtaining appropriate permits and visas.
