Almost half of the investors (49%) are not EU citizens, 43% are EU citizens, and the share of Spaniards is only 8% of the total number of buyers.
There are many foreigners from outside the EU who came from Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, as well as from Russia, China and Arab countries.
Among the EU citizens, buyers from France, Italy and Greece stand out. The British are still one of the most active groups in the Spanish luxury real estate market, especially in coastal areas and popular expat destinations.
2024 has strengthened Spain's position in the global luxury real estate market.Over the past decade, the average price per square meter in prestigious areas of large cities has increased by 75% and now stands at 8000 euros per square meter. It is expected that the upward trend in demand and prices will continue.
