Bulgarian authorities are considering the abolition of visas for Russian tourists children. According to the Ambassador of Bulgaria in Russia Boyko Kotseva, it may be only one component of a package of measures aimed at attracting visitors from Russia in the Bulgarian resorts, according to "Journal of ATOP" .

During the Russian-Bulgarian roundtable held during the exhibition "ITM-2017" Kotsev said about the prospects of changes in the visa policy of Bulgaria for Russian citizens.

According to the Ambassador, today discussed the issue of reducing the cost of the visa fee for Russian citizens in general and the issue of zeroing such gathering for Russian children up to 16 years. He also stressed that today worked out a number of measures to reduce the price of air travel, unreasonably expensive due to the monopoly of the air carrier.

Speaking at the roundtable, the Minister of Tourism of Bulgaria Stella Baltova, in particular, noted that Russians now occupy the 4th place among the largest of all the tourists who visited Bulgaria. In 2016, 584,000 Russian tourists came to Bulgaria, which is 19% more than a year ago - she said. "Russia - a strategic market for the tourism industry generates Bulgaria, whole large hotel complexes work only on the reception of tourists from Russia", - said Baltova.

This year, the minister added, Bulgaria, in addition to the traditional beach holiday destinations, and the Russians will offer new tourist products related to the event tourism. In Bulgaria we intend to attract tourists from Russia, not only in the beach season - and not only in the coastal resorts. Special rate in this respect Bulgaria makes to medical and health tourism

Speaking at the Russian-Bulgarian Roundtable executive director of the Association of Tour Operators Maya Lomidze stressed that concerns about the decrease of a number of beach areas - including Bulgaria - on the background of the massive sales of the Turkish tourism products, did not materialize. "The demand for Bulgaria is not reduced, and growing. This year, a significant growth of interest in Bulgaria by Russian tourists, supported by effective work of the largest Russian tour operators. At the stage of early booking growth in the number of applications for tours in Bulgaria is estimated at 10%, "- said the executive director of ATOR.
