According to Statistics Finland, in June 2026, apartment prices in the old housing stock decreased by 3.9% compared to the same period last year.
Among the major cities, Oulu was the exception, where prices rose by 3.3% in June. At the same time, the most significant drop was recorded in Turku. (-8%), and in Helsinki prices decreased by 4%. If we consider all cities, including small ones, the anti-record belongs to Kerava in the metropolitan region: in the second quarter, prices there fell by 12.4% year-on-year.
Northern Finland looks like a striking contrast to the national trend. In Rovaniemi, for example, apartment prices increased by about 6% in the second quarter compared to the same period in 2025.
Despite the general drop in prices, this did not lead to a revival of the market: the number of purchase and sale transactions decreased by 16% both in June and in the second quarter as a whole. The situation in the new building market is particularly difficult. The number of transactions with new apartments decreased by almost 30% compared to last year.
