The average asking price for Spanish real estate by the end of April 2012 decreased by 9.5% over the year, according to an online source SpanishPropertyInsight, with a link to the data of the Spanish real estate portal Idealista.com .
Since the Spanish real estate market is still in crisis, and banks primarily provide loans for properties that they sell themselves, homeowners can only reduce the prices of housing for sale. But judging by the current situation, this will not be enough.
The average asking price for secondary real estate in Spain for the year decreased from 2202 euros to 1993 euros per sq. m. Per month, the asking price decreased by 1% in April 2012 compared to March of the same year.
The largest decrease in the asking price was recorded in the autonomous communities of Castile-La Mancha, Navarre, Murcia and Extremadura, the smallest in the autonomous regions of Castile-Leon, Rioja and Galicia.
