Housing prices in Serbia are at their historical maximum, and it is unlikely that they will continue to go up, according to realtors, who were spoken to by the Serbian publication Kurir.Biznis. At the same time, in their opinion, a serious fall is not expected.
The interlocutors of the newspaper emphasize that in 2023, home sales in Serbia fell by 30%, but prices did not decrease. Apparently, the downward trend in sales will continue in 2024.
"A similar situation awaits us this year, stagnation or a slight drop in prices, and the number of transactions is likely to be even smaller. This is logical, because many people expect interest rates to decrease when loans become more affordable, but I believe that this can happen only in the second half of the year," explains the director of the real estate agency Art Urosh Jovanovich. "I don't think this year will bring any drastic changes to the market, unless something serious happens on the geopolitical front. Supply and demand should finally meet, and the market will finally stabilize.
