Montenegro is close to adopting a law that will regulate intermediary activities related to the sale and rental of housing. If this happens, only those who have passed the professional exam and are included in the relevant register will be able to work as realtors.

The Chamber of Commerce will be authorized to examine real estate agents. The exam will be held in the Montenegrin language. After successful completion, the specialist will receive a certificate.

Realtors will be obliged to work for only one intermediary company. At the same time, the company must have a room with the appropriate equipment.

When advertising an apartment or house, the realtor will certainly need to specify his registration number in the register, as well as information about the object: location, area, number of premises.

The amount of fines for violators is indicated: from 500 to 20,000 euros.
