The Montenegrin authorities will urgently take a decision on the temporary cancellation of the visa-free regime for Turkish citizens, Prime Minister Milojko Spajic said yesterday.
"In order to maintain economic activity and good bilateral relations, we will begin intensive negotiations with the Republic of Turkey in the near future in order to find the best model that meets mutual interests, in the spirit of good cooperation and alliance," Spajic said.
Starting from October 29, citizens of Kuwait, Armenia, Egypt and Uzbekistan will need a visa to visit Montenegro. About this the authorities stated earlier.
Montenegro is on its way to joining the EU, and the tightening of the visa policy is explained by the requirements of the European Union.
Citizens of China, Russia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Azerbaijan can still enter Montenegro without a visa, while citizens of the United Arab Emirates continue to enjoy a limited seasonal regime. However, the trend is that the abolition of visa-free travel with these countries is likely.
