The Consulates of the Republic of Cyprus in Russia will resume accepting visa applications after a technical break that will last from September 30 to October 6, 2025, ATOR reports.
However, there have been important changes in the procedure. Now tourists over the age of 12 will need to submit biometrics, fingerprints and photos when applying for a visa.
The innovation is due to the fact that Cyprus is preparing to join the Schengen area, which is likely to will take place in 2027, and brings the visa regulations in line with the requirements common to all Schengen members.
In the first 8 months of 2025, 40,200 Russians visited Cyprus, which is 31.8% more than in the same period of 2024. These are the official statistics.Source: ATOR
