The Dominican Republic continues to actively develop, setting another record: more than 8.59 million people visited the country from January to September 2025. Such data was shared by the Minister of Tourism David Collado, emphasizing the steady growth of the industry and its role in the national economy.
The number of tourists is 49% more than in 2019 (before the pandemic), 13% more than in 2023, and 2.6% more than last year.
Most of the tourists come to the Dominican Republic from the United States (38%), Colombia (10%), Canada (8%), Argentina (7%). Europeans often choose the country's resorts for wintering.
Previously, Russians actively visited the Dominican Republic, and they were ahead of many other foreigners in terms of length of stay and vacation expenses, but after the closure of direct flights, the popularity of the destination decreased.
Negotiations on the resumption of direct flights between Russia and the Dominican Republic are actively underway, as ñîîáùàëîñü earlier.
