The General Directorate for Residence and Foreigners in Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) granted 158,000 "golden visas" in 2023. This is almost twice as much as the total number of visas of all categories issued in 2022 (79,617), and significantly exceeds the results of 2021 (47,150 visas).
The Golden Visa is a special, privileged type of long-term resident visa. It can be obtained by real estate investors (investment threshold: from $545,000), large entrepreneurs, as well as talents in various fields.
The main difference between the "golden visa" is the period for which it is issued, up to 10 years.
There are other, simpler, visa programs in the UAE, including for investors. For example, a 5-year retirement visa is provided to people over 55 years of age when purchasing an apartment or house worth $272,500. A 2-year visa can be issued when buying a home in the amount of $205,000.
