Eurostat has published data on employment in tourist accommodation in Europe

In Bulgaria, about 27.1% of tourist accommodation were employed, about the same - in Croatia. And in Malta, the figure was 65.1% (+ 3.5%), which means that more than six out of 10 rooms available in the country were occupied by tourists. The same level of tourist accommodation employment showed Britain and the Netherlands, according to Eurostat. At the 3.5% increase in the number of tourist overnight stays in Portugal.

On the contrary, the decline was recorded in the Baltic States: the number of overnight stays in Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania, on average decreased here by 1% in March 2015 compared with the same period of 2014.

The number of tourist overnight stays is calculated from the ratio of paid to the hotel rooms that are available for reservation. Managers of hotels use this indicator to determine the effectiveness of the use of possessions - and understand whether there is at the moment the outlook for further business expansion.
