The Ministry of Finance of Finland suggests that more than 160 municipalities raise property taxes, according to the portal Yle with reference to Helsingin Sanomat.
The tax increase will not affect automatically all owners of cottages, as each municipality has the right to consider this question independently. In the Ministry suggest that 164 the municipality wants to increase the tax – area is about 300 000 summer houses.
At the moment, the municipality may require the tax of 0.6%, but next year it will be raised to 1%.
