According to the Deputy Minister of Digital Management Konstantinos Kiranakis, the Greek government is working on digitizing the process of transferring real estate to a new owner when selling. The goal is to ensure that after the transaction, the property will be "digitally locked" during the transaction period, preventing any unauthorized negotiations or sales.
The system should be put into operation by the end of September or the beginning of October.
In addition, the creation of a digital platform for the registration of contracts is being discussed.
From August 28, people will no longer have to stand in long queues at the Athens Land Registry. Instead, they will receive a digital number on their mobile devices. Kiranakis also stressed that the gov website.gr currently covers seven out of ten issues that people usually queue for.
All of these initiatives are aimed at optimizing processes, reducing paperwork and improving efficiency in the Greek real estate sector.
