Foreigners continue to show high activity in the housing market in Greece.
According to the real estate company RE/MAX, 49% of foreign buyers consider square meters as a profitable investment opportunity, 22% are looking for a holiday home, and 20% are interested in obtaining a residence permit.
The highest demand for Greek real estate is observed from the citizens of Israel, China and Germany, they together account for most of the transactions.
A third of the objects purchased by non-residents are in the price range up to 100,000 euros, 28% - from 200,000 to 300,000 euros, 27% - from 100,000 to 200,000 euros, 12% - from 300,000 euros.
The most popular type of real estate among foreigners are apartments (46% of all purchases). This is followed by private houses (24%), duplexes (10%) and land plots (15%).
Sellers note that Chinese and Israeli investors prefer real estate in Attica. Northern Greece attracts buyers from Germany, Bulgaria, Serbia and Turkey. The Ionian Islands are a favorite destination for buyers from the UK, Germany and the Netherlands. Crete is in demand among citizens of Israel, Germany, England and France.
Greece remains one of the most interesting European destinations for investment, including thanks to its famous program "Golden visa".
