In September 2016, the volume of real estate sales in Cyprus increased by 44% compared to the same period last year, according to the portal Cyprus Property Buyers , citing data from the Land Department.
The new owners found 556 residential and commercial properties and also plots of land (construction and agriculture). For comparison, in September last year, the figure was 385 objects.
Thus, current growth in the number of transactions follows their increase of 50% in August of this year, by 26% in July and 42% in June.
77% (427) of all the September deals were local citizens, while 23% (129) were in foreigners.
Growth in sales leads to Limassol. Here the number of real estate transactions in September of this year increased by 71% compared to the same period last year. Followed by Paphos (+40%). In Nicosia and Famagusta, sales were up 25% and 7% respectively.
