New study "Global City Residential Index", published by the international consulting company Knight Frank identified the city with the highest growth in property prices in the world. The rating was headed by the Chinese Shenchzhene, in 2015, demonstrating the price increase of 47.5%. This tells the online version of the British newspaper The Guardian.
121 of 165 cities, participated in the study showed an increase in the cost of housing. For Sanigene in 2015 best indicators of dynamics of real estate prices showed Auckland (+25,4%), Istanbul (+25%) and Sydney (+19.9 per cent). The top five also includes China Shanghai.
In 2015 all the European countries have most increased real estate prices Budapest (+16,3%), which also showed the best performance value of all the capitals involved in the study.
The city traditionally associated with the high cost of real estate, demonstrated weak dynamics of prices. So, London took 16th place in the ranking of Knight Frank (+11,4%), while new York dropped to 89th place (+3.3 per cent).
In the U.S. the best dynamics of growth of real estate prices showed the Portland, Oregon and San Francisco (both +10%), and in Canada, traditionally was the leading Vancouver, British Columbia (+12%).
Housing prices in the largest cities of Greece – Thessaloniki and Athens – were in the top six cities with worst dynamics in the cost of housing out of 165 participants in the rating, prices here fell by 5.9% and 4.8%, respectively. A significant decline was demonstrated and Italian city Rome, Trieste and Genoa. Nicosia and Larnaca in Cyprus was also among the cities with the largest drop in real estate prices.
