In the global index of housing prices Global House Price Index, published by the international consulting company Knight Frank, the leader of Turkey. Thanks to the investments of investors from the Middle East, in the fourth quarter of 2015, the prices here rose by 18% in comparison with the similar period of 2014. After Turkey the country with the rapid growth of housing prices was New Zealand, where prices for the same period grew by 14.2%, while third place was taken by Sweden (+12.3 per cent).
The global index of housing prices, Knight Frank in 2015 increased by 3%, which was higher than the rate of 2.3% achieved in 2014. In most (43) of all studied countries (55) there was an increase in the cost of housing.
Analysts of the consulting company noted that the global economic downturn has not affected the confidence of buyers, on the contrary, low interest rates stimulated demand. However, the pace of growth in 2016, may be delayed, because now for the global economy is characterized by a "dangerous cocktail" of low oil prices, strong dollar and the prolonged crisis in China.
The weakest real estate markets in 2015 were Ukraine (-12%), Greece (-5%)and Taiwan (-4%).
