The Start-Up Visa (SUV) immigration program is growing in popularity in Canada.
According to the Ministry of Immigration of Canada (IRCC), 65 businessmen moved there in June 2023, and 135 in July.
In the first seven months of the year, the country accepted 480 new residents for this type of visa, which is 33.3% more than in the same period last year.
The most popular regions for entrepreneurs were Ontario and British Columbia. In the first seven months of this year, 240 SUV owners settled in Ontario, which is 45.5% more compared to the same period in 2022. 165 businessmen moved to British Columbia, Manitoba received 45 people, and Nova Scotia received 10.
The authorities are interested in attracting startups and have increased the quota for the program from 1,000 people to 3,500 in 2023, 5,000 in 2024 and 6,000 in 2025. In addition, the right of residence will be granted to both the main applicant and his family members for 3 years at once, and not for a year.
