On March 21, 2023, the Lithuanian Seimas approved a draft law in the first reading, according to which citizens of Russia and Belarus will stop processing Lithuanian passports and residence permits.In addition, a ban is being introduced for citizens of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus to purchase real estate in Lithuania. The exception is those who already have a Lithuanian residence permit and who face persecution at home.
Applications for any type of visa will no longer be accepted from Russians and Belarusians in the visa services of Lithuania abroad.
The acceptance of applications for a residence permit is terminated, except in cases when the applicant has a valid permit to obtain a residence permit / Schengen visa / national Lithuanian visa / Lithuanian residence permit / residence permit of another EU country.
The acceptance of applications from citizens of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus for Lithuanian citizenship is stopped.
