The Cyprus Association of Major Investment Projects recently issued a statement emphasizing that the shortage of affordable housing can lead to negative consequences. This problem requires urgent government attention, the authors of the appeal are convinced, as Cyprus should remain an attractive place for office relocation from other countries. There is a need for sufficient housing to accommodate employees of large companies.

These difficulties, according to the association, may deter foreign firms choosing a destination for relocation.
The Association called on the government to encourage housing construction in certain areas and remove barriers in the system of issuing building licenses.
