The real estate market of Vietnam is experiencing a real boom: the construction sector is growing rapidly, as prices and sales volumes. In many ways, the revival of the market was facilitated by changes introduced by the government in the Housing act of 1 July 2015, which allowed foreigners to legally own and sell real estate in the state. Thus, in the third quarter of 2016, the total volume of residential property sales in Ho Chi Minh city increased by 49% compared to the previous quarter and soared by 193% compared to the same period last year, according to the international research Department of the consulting company Savills. Most of the deals was for terraced houses (71% of total sales).
In the third quarter of last year, housing prices in Ho Chi Minh city grew by 7.4% in comparison with III quarter of 2015. 7.5% increase in the cost of apartments in the secondary market and 6.8% – new townhouses and villas. Townhouses and villas secondary market rose in price by 8.5%. Sales of condominiums increased 33%.
In the capital Hanoi, the cost of apartments in the premium market grew by 8%, while mid-range segment by 5.3%. Sales of condominiums increased here by 10.1% for the quarter to the third quarter of last year. In General, the price of apartments of the secondary market is growing, but more slowly than in previous quarters – at 1.1%.
