Key terms of the program:
- Investments. At least 250,000 euros in equity or startup bonds.
- The investor's share.Cannot exceed 33% so that the founders retain control of the business.
- An important requirement. A startup must create at least two new jobs during the first year and maintain them for five years. Failure to comply with this condition threatens the investor with refusal to extend the residence permit.
A residence permit is first issued for 1 year, followed by an extension for 2 years subject to all conditions. This period is counted towards the 7-year period of permanent residence required for a possible application for citizenship.
Thus, Greece is betting on attracting strategic investments in the innovation sector, offering investors a new path to residency in exchange for supporting growing businesses and creating jobs.
Note that the program is not available according to the passport of the Russian Federation.
