Home sales in Turkey as a whole in January 2026 decreased by 4.7% compared to January 2025, amounting to 111,480 units. After the traditional December peak, there is a significant decrease in monthly terms.
Home sales to citizens of other countries in January decreased by 20.8% compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 1,306. The share of housing sales to foreigners in the total volume was 1.2%.
There is a significant decrease compared to December, when a record number of transactions with foreign buyers was achieved over the past 2 years (2,705).
In January, Russians were again the most active buyers of housing in Turkey (219 transactions). They are followed by Iranians (118 transactions) and Ukrainians (transactions).
Foreigners have purchased 595 properties in Istanbul, 375 in Antalya, including Alanya, and 73 in Mersin.
