In March, the third exhibition "Salon of Foreign Real Estate" was held in St. Petersburg. The exposition turned out to be representative both in terms of the number of participants, as well as in the number of exhibited objects and in the range of prices. At 75 stands there were real estate objects located in 40 countries.
The organizers of the exhibition note the increased interest of Petersburgers in real estate abroad. The exposition attracted thousands of visitors, more than 500 people attended thematic seminars. “We predicted the growth of interest in foreign real estate last year,” says Olga Shuldiner, director of the exhibition, “when we separated the Salon into a separate exposition as part of our Real Estate Fair. Now we see that a deferred demand has formed at the two previous exhibitions, which clearly manifested itself this spring at the third "Salon of Foreign Real Estate". According to the organizers, the last year's jump in real estate prices in St. Petersburg became an additional incentive for potential buyers, after which the “foreign” square meter became even more attractive in terms of “price and quality”. Mediterranean destinations and Black Sea resorts were most widely represented at the third "Salon of Foreign Real Estate". Thus, real estate in Bulgaria was represented by 20 companies, Spain - 19, Turkey - 12, Montenegro - 10, Cyprus - 6. According to the reviews of the participating companies, the most popular is housing for seasonal vacations. In second place are real estate for permanent residence and objects for investment, which include real estate purchased for rent. The list of countries - leaders in demand has not changed. These are Montenegro, Bulgaria, Spain, as well as the closest "abroad" to St. Petersburg - Finland. Following the results of the third "Salon", this list was supplemented by the Czech Republic. The price range of the real estate presented at the exhibition was very wide - from relatively inexpensive properties to exclusive offers. According to the reviews of the participating companies, there were quite a few visitors among the visitors who were looking for a “home of their dreams”. Most of all potential buyers were interested in the details of lending to non-resident buyers in Spain, Cyprus and Greece. However, the greatest enthusiasm among the visitors of the exhibition was caused by real estate objects in the price range up to 100,000 euros. In this segment, you could find many housing options in both the primary and secondary real estate markets in various countries. Unlike Moscow, where several exhibitions of foreign real estate are held annually, the St. Petersburg Salon remains the only event in its city. And one of the tasks set by the organizers of the exhibition is to make up for the lack of information about the possibilities and advantages of buying real estate abroad. Therefore, at each "Salon" a series of thematic seminars is held on real estate transactions in various countries of the world, investment opportunities, credit programs for non-resident buyers, etc. At the third "Salon" there were 14 such seminars. Approximately one third of them were addressed to potential investors and provided the most detailed information about the overseas property market so that future buyers could decide why they are ready to invest in certain projects. The general sponsor of the third "Salon of Foreign Real Estate" is MASA International. The sponsor of the business program of the exhibition is the Rustar group of companies. The next St. Petersburg "Salon of Foreign Real Estate" will take place on November 9-11, 2007. Detailed information about the exhibition can be found on the website www.yarmarka-expo.ru.
