The number of enterprises that Russian citizens have opened in Serbia reached 2,128 in June this year. There are 7,290 entrepreneurs from the Russian Federation developing business in the Balkan state. About this "Vedomosti" was told by Nenad Popovich, co-chairman of the Russian-Serbian intergovernmental cooperation committee.
Popovich noted that many Russian companies have opened their branches in Serbia. Among them are such giants as Yandex and many small startups.
Thousands of employees of these enterprises stirred up the Belgrade housing market in 2022-2023. Prices for renting and buying apartments have jumped. Today, according to Serbian media, the situation has stabilized, and Russians no longer have a significant influence on the real estate market, although they help maintain demand. The share of Russian buyers of apartments and houses in Serbia, according to local realtors, is no more than 5%. The share of Russian citizens among those renting housing is higher.
