In 2024, the demand of foreigners to buy housing in condominiums in Thailand slowed down slightly compared to the previous two years, when there was a large increase in transactions. This is stated in the report of the Real Estate Information Center (REIC).
Last year, sales increased by a modest 0.9% to 14,573 units, while in value terms they decreased by 6.8% to 68.18 billion baht. The average price of a property purchased by foreigners decreased from 5.1 million BAHT to 4.7 million BAHT.
Citizens of China, Russia and Myanmar continue to lead the way among foreign buyers of apartments in condominiums in Thailand. It is noted that demand from Russians and Chinese decreased last year, while investors from Myanmar, Taiwan, and India, on the contrary, increased. Citizens of Australia and France also showed increased interest in condominiums.
It is expected that in 2025, home sales to foreigners will remain stable or grow by about 1%.
