The Romanian Embassy will start issuing Schengen visas to Russians on March 31.
The diplomatic mission stated that, starting from this date, it will be possible to apply for a Schengen visa at any Russian consulate, namely in Moscow, St. Petersburg or Rostov-on-Don.
Nevertheless, specialized tourism resources note that the Romanian consulate in Rostov-on-Don is currently closed by order of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
Earlier, Bulgaria announced that it would start issuing Schengen visas to Russian citizens from April 1.
According to representatives of the tourism industry, it is not worth counting on obtaining long-term Schengen visas through Bulgaria and Romania. For example, Croatia, which joined the agreement on January 1, 2023, provides single-entry visas in 95% of cases.
