Over the past year, housing prices in the Czech Republic have increased. The rise followed the decline that took place in 2023.
In the 1st quarter of 2025, the real estate price index increased by 10% year-on-year, while new apartments rose in price by 13%, and secondary housing by 9.3%.
The cost of rent in the 2nd quarter of 2025 increased by about 6% compared to the previous year.
The rise in housing prices reflects an increase in demand for real estate amid a reduction in the supply of ready-made housing.
Sales of new apartments on the primary market increased both in Prague and in other regions of the Czech Republic.
The recovery in demand in the real estate market is due to an increase in the number of mortgage transactions after interest rates dropped.
