Despite the difficulties associated with the volume of supply, the Spanish housing market started 2025 very successfully. In January, sales increased by 11% compared to January 2024, which marks the best start since 2008.
The number of transactions reached 60,650, and this is the first time in 17 years that it exceeded 60,000 in January.
Despite the impressive growth figures, they are more modest compared to the end of last year. So, in December 2024, annual sales growth reached almost 38%.
The secondary market continues to dominate in Spain. New home sales have also made a significant jump.
The most significant increase in the number of transactions was observed in La Rioja, the Canary Islands and Asturias, while a slight decline was recorded in Cantabria.
