In Vilnius, prices increased by 0.2%, in the cities of Kaunas and Klaipeda – by 0.6% and 0.1%, respectively, in Siauliai and Panevezys, prices remained stable. Experts note that the prices for apartments in Lithuania have generally decreased by 0.8% in two years and this trend will continue in the near future.
Activity in the Lithuanian real estate market continues to grow. According to official data, in the first quarter of 2012, the number of real estate purchase and sale transactions (apartments and villas) increased by almost 10% compared to last year. In the first quarter of 2010, 460 houses and 1,550 apartments were sold monthly; this year, over the same period, the number of transactions per month increased to 510 houses and approximately 1,700 apartments.
