The US administration has announced the suspension of the issuance of immigration visas for citizens of 75 countries, including Russia. The decision comes into force on January 21 and will remain in effect until the completion of the review of immigration procedures.
Important clarification! Initial media reports, which began in a Fox News post, caused confusion, giving the impression that the suspension applies to all types of visas, including tourist visas. Later, the materials were edited with amendments.

Immigration visas grant the right to move to the United States on a permanent basis, obtain a green card and, in the future, citizenship (for example, EB-5 visas).
- Nonimmigrant visas include tourist, student, work, and other temporary entry visas. The suspension does not apply to them.
Thus, trips to the United States for the purpose of tourism, business or study from these countries continue according to the existing rules. The changes apply only to those who plan to immigrate.
