In 2024, Thailand was visited by more than 35 million travelers, who spent more than 1.6 trillion baht in the country, according to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
The largest number of tourists came from China - 6.7 million people. They are followed by Malaysians (4.93 million), Indians (2.12 million), South Koreans (1.86 million) and Russians (1.72 million).
The total revenue from tourism did not reach the planned amount of 3 trillion baht due to the slowdown in the global economy, conflicts in the Middle East and incomplete collection of data on tourist spending on the Internet. Nevertheless, the tourism sector brought 2.6 trillion baht to the economy, which is 25% more than in 2023.Source: Bangkok Post
