T-bank has announced the launch of a new opportunity for customers to transfer money to UnionPay Global cards issued in 61 countries. Previously, funds could only be sent to Chinese payment system cards issued directly in China. Now, the geography of recipients has expanded significantly, the credit institution told Vedomosti.

The key difference of the new option is that the transfer is successfully credited regardless of where the cardholder is currently located. For example, if the UnionPay Global card was issued in Uzbekistan, and its holder lives in France, the funds will still reach. To transfer money, the sender only needs the recipient's card number and full name. Money arrives instantly, similar to domestic transfers.

The countries available for transfers cover both Asia (China, Vietnam, Philippines, Singapore) and Europe (France, Germany, Belgium, Spain), as well as other regions. Important convenience: the client does not need to open a separate foreign currency account. The transfer can be sent from a ruble account in T-bank.

T-bank has set monthly limits for free transfers to UnionPay Global cards. You can send up to 20,000 rubles without commission without a subscription, up to 50,000 rubles with a Pro subscription, and up to 100,000 rubles with a Premium subscription. For transfers over these limits, a commission of about 1% of the excess amount is charged. At the same time, a one-time transfer cannot exceed 5,000 US dollars or the equivalent in another currency.

The innovation of T-bank complements the recent trend: Russian banks are actively expanding the possibilities of cross-border payments. So, at the end of April, VTB launched QR code payments for its customers in Egypt via a mobile application, which also allows them to pay in rubles without additional fees within the established limits.
