The US president said he would ask Congress to pass the bill and discuss additional proposals on housing and housing affordability in his speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, which will be held in January.
During his 2024 election campaign, Trump took advantage of public concerns about housing affordability, promising to quickly reduce the cost of living for millions of Americans. However, since his return to power a year ago, inflation has remained stubbornly above normal levels.
During the pandemic, housing prices in the country soared to record levels, after which they began to decline. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the average selling price last year was $410,800.
