Representatives of the Turkish tourism industry predict an influx of Russian tourists due to the strengthening of the ruble against the dollar and the euro. This is reported by Hurriyet Daily News.
Last year, more than 6.7 million Russians visited Turkey, which accounted for 12.8% of the total number of foreign visitors.In 2024, the number of Russian tourists increased by 5% compared to 2023.
In the first two months of 2025, Turkey received 371,000 Russian citizens. According to Caan Kavaloglu, president of the Association of Hoteliers and Investors of the Mediterranean Coast of Turkey, when the ruble strengthened, Russians immediately began booking vacation tickets.Industry representatives announced in March that Turkey plans to welcome more than 7 million Russian tourists this year.
