In early 2012, foreigners residing in Finland will receive a biometric card instead of stickers in the passport, according to national broadcaster in Finland YLE . All recipients of a residence permit in the country over the age of 6 years will take fingerprints to be included in the microchip biometric cards gradually due to technical delays. Fingerprints shall be entered in the register of foreigners. Foreigners have in their passport sticker indicating the receipt of a residence permit, should not change the label on the biometric card. And those who applied for a residence permit until 01.01.2011, and has not yet received a response should be to contact the police to supplement the application.
