The bill on amendments to the Italian program for granting a residence permit for Dolce Visa investments, which was submitted for consideration a year ago, may enter the voting stage in 2023. The amendments, if adopted, provide, among other things, for the issuance of a residence permit for investments in real estate.
According to the project, the minimum investment thresholds for obtaining Italian residency are as follows:
- when buying properties in major cities of Italy – 1.5 million euros;
- when purchasing real estate in provincial capitals and municipalities with a population of more than 25,000 people – 1 million euros;
- in municipalities with a population of up to 25,000 people – 750,000 euros.
It should be noted that the cost of similar programs in Greece, Portugal, and Cyprus is significantly lower.
The amendments to the bill will also affect investments in Italian companies. The required limit of investments in innovative startups will be reduced from the current 250,000 euros to 200,000 euros, and the limit of investments in business from 500,000 euros to 400,000 euros.
