According to the Statistical Service of Montenegro, in the second quarter of 2014, housing prices in the primary market decreased by 6.5% to 1147 euros per square meter, reports of Global Guide Review the Property . Compared to the previous quarter prices fell by 0.7%. The most expensive property in Montenegro is currently in Budva, where the average price in the second quarter of 2014 amounted to 1890 euro per sq.m. It is followed by Podgorica, with an average price of 1098 euro per sq.m. Bar and 1024 euro per sq.m. In the remainder of the average price was 789 euros per square meter, in Niksic - 600 euros per sq.m. The total number of units sold increased by 16.6% to 196 units in the second quarter compared with the first quarter. However, about 80% of sales come from the country's capital, Podgorica. In the first quarter of 2014 the number of permits for new construction also increased by 31% compared to the same period in 2013. Despite the continued decline in real estate prices, it is expected that real estate in Montenegro demand from foreign buyers will continue to grow. In particular, significant improvement is expected after the budget airline Ryanair will launch several new routes to Montenegro, including from Brussels, Milan, London, Oslo and Stockholm.
