Housing prices have slowed in the Netherlands, according to the Global Property Guide .
In the second quarter of 2019, housing prices increased by 4.18%, while a year earlier this indicator was 8.9%. The data indicate a slow growth rate amid falling demand coupled with acute housing shortages.
According to the Statistics Netherlands, in the first half of 2019, the volume of sold residential real estate decreased by almost 5% to 99,937 units compared to 2018.
This year, housing shortages in the Netherlands were estimated at 200,000 units of real estate. Now the cost per square meter in apartments in Amsterdam is about 6900 euros.
