Sales volumes real estate in the USA for foreigners increased to $16 billion in a year, the resource reports property-abroad.com with reference to the National Association of Realtors.
The purchases of housing by immigrants and non-residents, who are attracted by the wide supply and low prices in the American real estate market, were taken into account.
Agents also note that there are more foreigners purchasing housing for children who study in the States. Today, buying a house often turns out to be more profitable than renting.
The weakening of the US dollar also plays a role – in particular, it benefits Canadians (23% of all home purchases in the United States by non-residents) and the Chinese (9% of purchases).
Florida remains the most popular state among foreigners, followed by California, Texas and Arizona.
