The first place in the world passport strength rating from Passport Index is occupied by the United Arab Emirates (180 points), which is just one point ahead of Spain. UAE citizens can visit 180 countries without a visa or with a visa on arrival, and Spanish citizens can visit 179 countries.
The third place was shared by 14 countries at once: Finland, France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Denmark, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Austria, Portugal, Norway, Switzerland, Greece, Ireland. They scored 178 points each.
The passports of Bulgaria and Romania are on the 7th line (174 points) along with the UK passport, the US passport is on the 8th (173 points).
The passport of the Russian Federation shared the 39th place with the passports of Turkey and Venezuela, scoring 128 points.
The passport strength rating from Passport Index is not the only one. Singapore was the leader in the Henley Passport Index ranking from Henley & Partners, as of mid-2024.
